Educational Leaders and Blogs

Blogs can be a very important tool for educational leaders!  As described in the Dana text*, there is no one else in the school with the same power as the principal.  The principal stands at the top alone and to work with others who face similar issues, they must leave their school.  This can be tough to do and blogs will allow them to communicate with other professionals without being away!  There are many leaders who face the same scenarios, if not identical, on a daily basis but they could be hundreds or thousands of miles away from each other.  Finding other leader's blog sites and reading about issues they are facing, what they have tried, what worked and didn't work, other people's feedback, and questions they may have on issues they are facing, highlights they are not alone.  Blogs will help educational leaders work together to solve similar issues, learn at a quicker rate then continually trying to solve all problems on your own, and streamline processes based on other people's experiences.  There is not a magic pill that will work the same for everyone but it is easier to have several options to choose from instead of trying to go it alone!
